Club Equipment is available for use. Those of you who are have been shooting with us for a couple of years should consider buying your own equipment. The start times will be 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 1:00 PM. Any age can shoot on any line. The Tournament Team will still shoot at 3:00 p.m. The shooting will last about 1 ½ - 2 hours. A parent or guardian must be present at all times when the archers are shooting.
We start archer's ages 6-11 years old on a line that is 10 meters away from a large 80cm target. Once they score over 200 points on this target, the archer may move to a medium size 60cm target. Once they shoot over 200 points on the 60cm target, we move them back to the 20-meter line. At this point they start at 80cm target again and then the 60cm target and finally the small 40cm target. The archers will stay on this target and continue to develop their skills. It is not mandatory that the archers move to the next distance or target the first time they reach the goal for that target. For our 12 - 18 year old archers we start them all on the 20-meter line and on a large 80cm target. They advance to a medium 60cm target and eventually to the small 40cm target. All archers must be dressed appropriately. No midriffs showing or sleeves less then than 3 inches please. Consider your school's dress code as a good example. More details will be provided at the registration meeting. Archers who are interested in shooting competitively may be invited to join our tournament team. Selection is based on a number of factors. The Shooter's desire to shoot competitively is the greatest factor. The remaining factors would be skill and perhaps age, This team is for archers who are serious about shooting competitively at local, state and national tournaments. All Archers must affiliate with one of the National Archery Organizations: NAA or NFAA in order to be a member of the tournament team. All Team members are required to compete in the NAA State and NAA Indoor National tournaments. |
